Voronin: Not in Ukraine squad

Liverpool striker Andriy Voronin has been omitted from Ukraine's squad to face Greece in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.
The 30-year-old's last appearance for his country was as a late substitute in Ukraine's 0-0 draw against Belarus in September and he was then dropped from the squad for the final qualifier in Andorra in October.
Ukraine coach Olexiy Mikhailichenko explained his omission then by saying Voronin was less than 100 per cent fit, without giving precise details, while the striker also declined to comment on the matter.
But Voronin has been out of favour since criticising Mikhailichenko in the media after Ukraine's Group Six qualifier against Croatia in October 2008.
"I don't want to be called up if I'm not going to play," said Voronin, who has since seen a drastic reduction in his playing time for the national side, despite getting a run in the side for Liverpool recently.
Instead Mikhailichenko has turned to strikers Andriy Shevchenko and Artem Milevskiy from Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev, as well as Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk pair, Volodymyr Homenyuk and Evgen Seleznev for the two games against the Greeks.
The teams first meet in Athens on 14th November before the return leg in Donetsk four days later.
