Manchester City have rubbished speculation they are ready to offload Andreas Isaksson, but the goalkeeper needs to impress.
Isaksson has endured a frustrating time at City since his arrival in August 2006, as he has struggled with a succession of injury problems and has been overlooked in favour of Kasper Schmeichel and Joe Hart in recent games.
City manager Sven Goran Eriksson was rumoured to be looking to show the shot-stopper the exit.
However, Tord Grip - Eriksson's right hand man - has dismissed the speculation but he insists Isaksson needs to impress for his country.
Sweden face Liechtenstein on Saturday and Northern Ireland on Wednesday in Euro 2008 qualification and Grip says that Isaksson must show his capabilities.
"It is absolutely not true that we are looking to sell Andreas," Grip told the Daily Mail.
"If Andreas shows his best form in Sweden's next two games it is very possible he will get a chance soon."
